About Us

OUR
BACKGROUND

The Luchianov Family started growing grapes in 2003. The land was purchased in 2002 by Alexandru Luchianov, who named the estate Et Cetera. After the adventurous life travelling he decided to settle down where the roots come from. With a brief experience in this field, Alexandru, having as a background the faculty of mathematics, professional Scuba Diver and Skydiver, started a new journey of Life, not less Extreme than previous occupation, through the world of grape growing and winemaking. He became fanatically enthusiastic with his new passion, traveling to wine countries, adopting experience from foreign specialists, learning about vineyards and tasting wines, all of that to find the perfect taste.

In 2006, after 13 years of travelling, his brother Igor, decided to join him in this life adventure. In 2005, right after the first harvest and bottling, the wine won the gold medal at the local competition. After this huge appreciation brothers decided to invest in a winery and develop the Et Cetera Estate intending to enhance Et Cetera’s traditions of Excellence. In 2009, the winery was built. Using the combination of modern wine-making techniques and age old methods such as: ageing on the lees in barrel Et Cetera achieved unique bouquets, which won the wine lovers’ hearts.

THE WAY WE
THINK

We cultivate relationships.

Et Cetera is a family-owned winery. And we believe that love and care is the key of family’s well-being. We take care of the land, which pays us back with great harvests. We control each winemaking process from growing grapes, fermentation and ageing in oak till serving the product to our guests at the restaurant of our winery. This way we share our experience and develop the wine culture in our country.

Terroir

Thanks to the close proximity of Black Sea, Liman and the Dniester River in conjunction with well-drained, warm on the surface, cool and humid deep down soil a perfect terroir for growing grapes has formed.

« The moment I came back home and decided to grow grapes I fell in love with the place. When I started to prepare the land I immediately felt connected to it. I dedicated all my time to develop this Estate. Living in the middle of vineyards gave me inspiration and power to produce the best out of this area could give. While preparing the land we were surprised to find some artifacts which gave us the evidence that this land was settled by people who were cultivating grapes long time ago. »

HARVEST

Et cetera is a boutique winery. That is why we have a very responsible approach to the grape picking.

We use only best grapes which are selected carefully by our workers to produce the premium wines.

We pick grapes in the Fall season considering all the demands to a perfect ripeness such as: balance of aroma, tannin, color, sugar and acidity.

Grapes are collected manually in small baskets and then our workers sort them carefully. Only the best grapes get transmitted to the cellars where they get fermented- red species in stainless steel tanks and white ones in oak barrels.
